Joanne established BOFI Pty Ltd in 2006 and enjoys working as an independent academic, leadership and professional workplace skills coach and consultant in a range of areas relating to organisational effectiveness with a focus on organisational innovation strategies and practices.

She is a former Associate Professor with The University of Adelaide (UA), where she established academic programs in Entrepreneurship and in 2002, a new School, the Entrepreneurship, Commercialisation & Innovation Centre (ECIC). Joanne held the position of Academic Director, Entrepreneurship Programs for 9 years until leaving in July 2006 to establish BOFI. 

Joanne has developed and delivered coaching based programs in management and leadership since 1998. She has lectured at post- graduate level in leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship, and taught undergraduate subjects in organisational communication and qualitative research methods.

Between 2011 and 2012 Joanne undertook case study research on academic identity in universities to complete her Doctor of Education. This research is of practical value to leaders in universities, especially during periods of transformation. Joanne was awarded the doctorate in September 2013.

Joanne is an experienced educator in the higher education and vocational/adult education areas; a qualified academic, teacher, career counsellor and leadership coach. 

Her qualifications are: Ed.D., M.. Ed. Mgt. BA. Dip.Ed. Grad. Dip. Soc. Sc. Joanne is also qualified to offer the following  self-assessment instruments: DISC Advanced accredited facilitator and consultant (2015); EQ-i/2.0 accredited (December 2014); Cert. IV Training & Assessment (2007) & MBTI (1988).

 Joanne is a member of ATEM: Association for Tertiary Education Management, Inc. & AARE: Australian Association for Research in Education.
