2016 and 2017 were very busy and rewarding years, taken up with new program and course development and teaching for the University of South Australia and Flinders University.
For UNISA - a new honours degree in innovation:
I had a fantastic opportunity to design, develop and help facilitate an innovative, experiential, industry driven honours degree in innovation for UNISA throughout 2016 and 2017. This work entailed research, design and curriculum development and included working with a small team to ensure the new program had the creative and imaginative input of numerous university and industry professionals. The new program had its first cohort in 2017; it was known as the Vice Chancellor's Innovation Fellowship.
Honours courses taught: The Innovators Mindset and Initiating a New Innovation Venture.
For UNISA- Entrepreneurship and Innovation:
I have had the pleasure also of teaching Entrepreneurship and Innovation to two cohorts, one on campus and another group on line. This course is an MBA elective.
For Flinders University - Entrepreneurship and Small Business unit:
2016 - 2018 I worked with a Flinders University Business academic to develop and teach Entrepreneurship and Small Business.
One of the tasks I thoroughly enjoy is taking a concept for a new or amended course or program and seeing it through to completion as a new subject or a new program.
I have developed and written course materials and developed the following subjects (Masters degree level) and programs:
Subjects developed for several universities:
Managing Innovation in Organisations
Leadership, Change & Innovation
Entrepreneurship & Innovation
Business Communication
A Graduate Diploma in Business Enterprise (focusing on the New/Innovative SME)
Project in Entrepreneurship
Masters Degree in Entrepreneurship
And, for final year and Honours level degree students I have developed and taught:
Business & Management skills (for honours level Engineering degree students)
Communication Practicuum, which entailed topics such as organisational behaviour, leading and management, introduction to HRM.
In addition to this work for award programs, I can also design, develop and conduct shorter, non-award programs such as seminars and workshops. I have done so in the past for both university students focusing on creativity and innovation, and for staff I have conducted workshops to support initiatives designed to facilitate innovation for both academic and professional staff.
